Data Transfer Modes:

WCDMA and GPRS are the two supported data transfer modes for W900.

Battery:

W900 is equipped with a Standard battery Li-Po 900 mAh. The standby battery time for W900 is amazing and it can survive for about 300 hours while in UMTS and an extra 70 hours (370 hours) over GSM network. On the other side the talk time is also remarkable, one can talk for about 2.2 hours while using UMTS network and 8.4 hours over GSM network. Don’t you think that 8.4 hours is a hell of time for any mobile battery?

Music Player:

Music Player is also available and music can be played continuous 30 hours only if the phone has been switched off. MP3, AAC or AAC+, MIDI, WAV and XMF are the supported music formats for this phone.

Display:

W900 has a 2.2" screen having 262 K colors as most of the mobiles do have these days, not only this Sony Ericsson decided streamline itself with new technology and padded this handset with TFT LCD screen having a resolution of 240 x 320 Pixels.

Call Records:

W900 provides the facility to view 30 placed, received and missed calls.

Messaging:

Sony Ericsson cannot forget about messaging, so the consumers are facilitated by providing facilities like SMS, EMS, MMS, push E-mail and beside all that it also provides Instant Messaging.

Colors Availability:

For time being the handset is available in Black and White Colors. May be after some time the handset becomes available in new and fascinating colors.

Ringtones:

Polyphonic Ringtones and MP3 are the ring types present in this handset, It contains 40 of them each of them is 72 Channeled. Along with this you can compose your own Ringtones and download them as well. Vibrator which is a necessity these days, is also available.

Games:

Java J2ME and hardware Accelerator is there in the handset. The hand set comes with embedded Java games like Asphalt Urban GT 3d from Game loft, Power Ball Arcade in 3D, Quadra Pop in 2D. Consumers need not to stick to the available games rather they can download more games that suit their needs. User can play games horizontally on full screen, which is quite a unique feature in its own.

Camera:

W900 has 2 Mega Pixel auto focus with 8 x digital zoom camera having 1632x1280 pixels resolution, video(QVGA) supported and has flash and LED photo Light. Camera also supports Video recording and full screen playback facility at 30 Frames per second. Second Video Call Camera (QCIF) is also available to facilitate video calling.

3D Accelerator:

3D accelerator by Nvidia is used in W900 for the first time. The device has started writing videos of high resolutions only because of the GoForce 4800 chip and also supports 3-D games with high frames per second.

Photo-ID:

W900 does provide the photo id for call or SMS as well, so it’s a unique in its own.

Memory:

470 MB shareable memory is available, which is quite large and Memory Stick Duo Pro Extension is available up to 2GB, which does suffice our memory needs in any case.

Communication:

Infrared and Bluetooth are some other communicating modes available.

FM Radio:

Sony has launched a unique feature, MMR-60, a dedicated FM transmitter in this Walkman phone. This attaches to any handset equipped with a ‘Fast-port’ connector and broadcasts music via FM, As a result the transmitted music could be received and played through any standard radio receivers.
HPM-80 in the package kit serves the purpose of hardware radio because the set doesn’t have its internal one.

Browsing:

It does provide connectivity via WAP 2.0, Java MIDP 2.0, SyncML, HTML browser (NetFront),, Bluetooth and Infrared, PC Suite, USB cable, USB mass storage, Memory Stick PRO Duo slot, External antenna connector.

Clock:

Clock is available to check out the times and we can set alarm time in the handset also.

Hands-Free:

Stereo Portable Hands free with remote control (3.5mm jack)

Miscellaneous:

Macromedia Flash Lite, VideoDJ, PhotoDJ, MusicDJ, Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 2.0 and Apple QuickTime Player for PC are also provided along with Image viewer, Picture editor, Organizer and Voice memo.
