Sony ericsson released a new cell phone named K500. Infact, it should not be said as a new phone. Soneryicsson k500 is similar to sony ericsson k700i. Apart from adding new features, a few were removed. The strategy is to make a cell phone with outstanding screen and gaming affordable to middle class users.

Difference with k700

If we talk about the differences between sony ericsson k700i and k500; the first thing comes in my mind is that there is no radio and no Bluetooth. For middle class users removing Bluetooth can be ok because IrDa is still there, but removing radio can be controversial. Furthermore rubber muffler on the interface connector is also remove. There are also a few minor features added to the Sony ericsson k500. A lens cover is there, the menu graphics are improved too.

Features

As both of the cell phones i.e. Sony ericsson k700 and Sony ericsson k500 are based on different class of users, I will again discuss the important features in the k500 that were already discussed in Sony ericsson k700. The phone presents the latest graphics platform i.e. Java 2.0 and Mascot Capsule(r) Engine Micro3D Edition from HI Corp - especially created for fast-action, graphics-rich mobile applications. At first sight of the screen I am sure you will get stunned by the 1.9 inch TFT screen quality and the quality of games. It is further backed up by the built in 32Mb memory pool out of which 12Mb is available for user applications such as games etc. The cell phone is capable of capturing pictures, video clips and sending them via Quick Share (another platform that combines all standards of sending media through the network, mobile to pc or mobile to mobile). Most people review that the picture and video quality is better than other competitive cell phones from Nokia.

Conclusion

The phone works same as the Sony ericsson k500. It can play mp3 but lack of removable memory stops this feature from being important in this phone. Again I will say that Sony ericsson k500 is released just to cut the price and increase the user circle upto middle class to admire the new gaming technologies and an eye catching screen.
An important note for users that they may find the phone in different versions such as K700i/K500i, K700c.K500c. Don't get confused, i is the international version, c is the Chinese version. There is no difference in functionality.
