Siemens CF62 could be said as the first successive clamshell cell phone by Siemens. If looked at price, the cell phone is aimed at middle class; but it features a different fashion design and features.

External look

Siemens CF62 is given a slim and smart look with a cool silver color. Total volume is just 78cm cube. The internal display could show upto 130 x 130 pixel 65k TFT while the external is black n white with blue backlight. Siemens CF62 also supports dynamic lights, a unique feature of Siemens cell phones. Another unique feature is the loop antenna of the cell phone. It has been introduced recently by Siemens and surely it gives a unique fashion look to the cell phone.

Features

Siemens CF62 is almost same as Siemens M65 in terms of functionality. All necessary features such as GPRS, JAVA, WAP, MMS are supported in the cell phone. The triband cell phone Siemens CF62 also supports to connect with accessories like external camera, handsfree, car kits etc.

Shortcomings

Being a low budget but fashion class cell phone, Siemens CF62 lacks some features in which Infra-red is important. But the data cable will prvide the complete solution and removes this descripency. Furthermore, you can't control the external LCD separately, since there are no external buttons to use it. Some people are not satisfied with the reception and interface of the cell phone.

Price and Conclusion

In my opinion, Siemens CF62 is a balanced cell phone for the middle class. Its initial price is 175-200$ and will easily drop down to 100-125$ in coming months. There is nothing new in terms of functionality, but only a different design you will see in this cell phone. Siemens CF62 is the only choice if you like both Siemens and a Clamshell form factor.
