Samsung x600, an update of Samsung x100

Samsung phone x600 is also said to be the camera version of Samsung x100. The shape and functions are almost same. The only new features added are just camera, flash and a relatively strong battery. There is also a small external antenna in Samsung x600.

Camera and flash

In Samsung phone x600, Internal VGA camera is placed at the top. You can rotate the lens to make it open and take the pictures of surroundings and yourself too. The flash feature is interesting; it can also act as a search light. Flash increases the phone's usability by taking pictures even in low light conditions. Extra usage of flash flushes the battery early, but keeping this in mind, the battery is made more powerful than the previous ones i.e. 900 mAh. The picture quality of camera is much like Samsung phone e700. It cannot be said at a level of a true digital camera, but as a mobile phone camera its very good. Next year, those phones can be expected that can be replaced with a digital camera. There are preset resolutions, effects, frames, compression modes etc for the pictures. There are also impressive options in samsung phone x600 to store the taken pictures in the phone or send to other computers or mobiles.

Memory features

The memory pool of Samsung phone x600 is quite impressive. There are several blocks actually. You can store up to 1000 contacts in the phonebook with six numbers against each. Java applications and games have a memory of around 600 kb and the messages also have their own reasonable memory. About 9Mb memory is there for storing pictures in Samsung x600 which can be said a huge amount for a cell phone like this. Sonyericsson t610 and Motorola e365 have only 2mb total memory, but look at this one; it really worth creating digital photo albums in the phone.

Other features

As Samsung phone x600 takes it's lead due to camera, memory and built in flash which are already discussed. Rest of features is similar to Samsung x100, but I can give you a bird eye's view of them here. The 65k 128 x 128 vivid screen is better but not the best of today's age. Features such as GPRS, Java, WAP, MMS and organizer are present which are almost necessary for a phone like this. One thing can be considered as a disadvantage that is present in every Samsung phone, is the photo CLI. You can attach a pre-installed graphic to a contact, but not a taken picture from samsung phone.

Impact

This is the phone for people who need an internal VGA camera and a nice memory pool. Its price is expected to around 250 $ which will reduce by the time. In my opinion, Samsung phone x600 is a normal camera phone in which flash is the main attraction.
