Samsung has been working on both functionality and external appearance. Hence, you may find a similar functionality cellphone in both clamshell and slider form factor. Samsung p850 got announced in first quarter of 2005 along with d600. The new features of both are almost same with some variations. But, this time the clamshell form factor is revived with some new color combinations and aesthetic sense.

The new features that Samsung has produced these days include memory expansion slot that supports T Flash, stereo spearkers, Tv output etc. Furthermore, you will find a 3 MegaPixel camera, flash and a huge 262k 320 x 240 pixel screen. As it has the clamshell form factor, you will also find a 96 x 96 pixel external TFT. Rest of the features are upto the mark of current requirements and technologies such as EDGE, Bluetooth, Synchronization, 64 polyphone, mp3, mpeg etc. Furthermore, an almost similar cellphone for the 3G/UMTS market is also announced i.e. Samsung z700.

Conslusion

Some cellphones are just announced to get user reaction. Sometimes they didnt get released or sometimes their enhanced versions get their way into the market. In these cases, not all the capabilities are discussed except the most innovative ones. I thinks same is the case with Samsung p850. But, I am sure that Samsung p850 or its similar variant will capture its position in the market.
