Verizon Wireless has announced the availability of Samsung SCH i730. Samsung i730 is a windows mobile based PDA/smartphone having the support for EV-DO. The announcement of Samsung SCH i730 is clearly depicting a next step in the race of smartphones.

Samsung I730 Features

Before starting the features, one should have a clear understanding of EV-DO. EV-DO stands for evolution data optimized, which is an extension to CDMA 2000. With the evolution of 3G, Europe has adopted UMTS while USA got sticked with CDMA 2000 in this context. For working of EV-DO, both network support and handset support is required. Hence, Samsung SCH i730 wont be available/working in Europe but in USA with specific operators such as Verizon Wireless.
Samsung SCH i730 makes use of the famous slider form factor to show a huge screen and underlying QWERTY keyboard. The size and weight are 114 x 58 x 25 mm 183 g while the screen is 240 x 320 pixels TFT. Samsung has also improving its bluetooth day by day . Samsung i730 can support multiple bluetooth profiles. Samsung SCH i730 will be available by 7th June for 599.99$ with a two year contract. For Europe, a similar version is expected to be released i.e. SCH i750 which might miss the sliding form factor of Samsung i730.
