Samsung d500 seems to be the business solution in its slider cellphone
class. At a first look Samsung d500 seems like Samsung e800 but actually it is
totally different at the backend. Lets get into details.
Samsung d500Features
Samsung d500 is not a smartphone but has 176 x 220 pixel 262k color
screen. In shape, its somewhat bigger than e800 and 10g heavier than e800 i.e.
99g. Sliding function is semi manual and automatic. You can also use most of
the functionality when the slider is not open.
In terms of functionality, its totally different; camera has been improved a
lot. The sensor is yet not CCD (Sensor for actual digital camera) but is highly
improved form of CMOS. Loudspeaker, dictaphone, mp3 player are there. Around
90Mb of built-in memory is enough for saving stuff. Samsung has improved its
connectivity and sharing options in d500. For the first time, they have
introduced bluetooth. IrDa is also present. Synchronization softwares are also
avaiable for it.
In some areas,
Samsung d500 comes up with an accessory i.e. called
SoundMate.
It basically acts as a loudspeaker when attached to the phone. But I am still
not sure about its actual usage. Whether it'll make the cellphone as a mini
music station or its used to hear the sounds loud or something like that.
Conclusion and Price
I think, Samsung always takes its lead in style and design. Thats the same in
case of
Samsung d500. I would recommend this cellphone to people who
like Samsung, extra functionalities and are big fan of slider phones. And also
to the ones who dont want to go deep in the complexity of smartphones. After
its launch in January, its price is around 450-500 dollars.
