Nokia Series 40

Nokia series 40 is just a label for Nokia's non-smartphone based cell phones. They are simple so that they dont fall under other category such as fashion phone, business phone, camera phone etc. Although some fashion phones could also belong to series 40.

Another fact that there is no developer platform available for s40 phones because they're not that much customizable. Nokia 6230 could be said as the new one from the series.

N92

Nokia N92 Nokia N92 is rather a pre-release of another member of N series equipped with mobile TV standards. DVB-H is a mobile TV broadcast technology that lets you watch TV on your mobile in an efficient manner. The efficiency is not only involved in watching quality stream but also involving efficient battery consumption.

Design

Nokia N92 design is more sophisticatd than the N90. The smartphone can be opened or operated in atleast four modes. One is normal clamshell closed mode where you can see the small external screen with some basic alerts. Second is the normal clamshell open mode in which you operate your smartphone and do basic operational tasks. Third is the digital imaging mode in which you take pictures or make videos. This mode is much like the mode in Nokia N90. The fourth one is optimized for viewing mobile tv, browsing and message typing. In this mode, the phone is open like a notebook.

N80

Nokia N80 Nokia N80 has been announced along with Nokia N92 and N71. Nokia N80 looks to be the prominent one because of its relatively small size and a sliding form factor. Nokia has considered the sliding form factor again after many years and it seems to be a great idea as every manufacturer has now its separate range of slider phones.

Features

Nokia N80 is unique in various aspects. Its specifications target it as an integral part of your digital wireless home. The presence of wifi with UPnP standard is admiring. Consider that you send music from you phone to your hifi system and control it, download and synchronize music files between your mobile and pc, view the taken pictures on your tv or computer screen, print the taken images. All this be done wirelessly and on a compatible standard !! . UPnP has a pottential to further grow as a standard of future wireless needs.

i600 Smartphone

samsung i600Samsung SP-i600 is CDMA based smartphone and is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 software. Unlike Samsung i700, it is a cell phone first and then a PDA which in other words is defined by the term "smartphone". It features Intel 200Mhz processor, 32 MB RAM and typical 176 x 220 TFT 65k color screen.

Comparison with Motorola Mpx200

Motorola MPX200 and Samsung i600 both are based on microsoft smartphone platform. Former is provided by AT&T and the later is provided by Sprint in USA. It in interesting to note that Mpx200 supports GSM and i600 supports rich CDMA. But i600 is heavier (5 ounces) than mpx200 (4.2 ounces).
