At CeBit 2004, Siemens displayed another cell phone based on the same new 65 platform i.e. S65. This set is an update and will replace Siemens s65. Sometimes calling it an updating is wrong because most of the features are either new or updated a lot.

External features

The screen has improved a lot. Its TFT 65k color and of 13 x 176 pixels. Siemens has added camera and video capabilities to the phone as in other new handsets. 11 Mb built in memory and MMC card expansion slot is a huge plus point in Siemens s65. A t 32 Mb memory card is also present in a standard package. This time the camera resolution goes to megapixels i.e. 1.3 MP with 5x digital zoom.

Company Profile

Siemens has been contributing a lot to the wireless communications. It has been working on GSM/GPRS networks and GSM/GPRS cell phones, 3G/UMTS networks and phones, cordless phones etc and having a position and share in the corresponding markets. As far as cellular phones are concerned, Siemens is in the top race alongwith Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, SonyEricsson and is going fine, improving a lot. According to a press release from Siemens; Siemens is No. 2 worldwide in GSM cell phones thus holding the 19% of total market share.
