PalmOne Treo 650 Smartphone

Treo 650 Introduction

On October 25th 2004,the most awaited smartphone i.e. Palmone's Treo 650 has been released. It is basically an update to the popular treo 600 thus reducing the descripencies in treo 600 and increasing the user circle. In a simple sentence, treo 650 is a compact cell phone with email, Palm OS organizer, multimedia and web access. Palmone treo 650 runs on Palm OS.

Treo 650 Design

Treo 650's design is same as of treo 600. The design plays an important role in the success of this series. It basically combines the taste of both PDA (high resolution screen with touchscreen) and a cell phone (keypad i.e full QWERTY keyboard). New additions in the design of treo 650 include 320 x 320 pixel color screen (instead of 160 x 160 in treo 600), dedicated buttons for receiving and ending the call, removable battery etc.

Treo 650 New Features

Not only the design is improved in treo 650, but also many enhancements are added to functionality. Bluetooth has been introduced as many people missed that in treo 600. Camera is enhanced with 1 megapixel sensor. PalmOne has licensed synch technology from Microsoft, hence treo 650 supports direct corporate email access to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 using PalmOne's email software. All other features are as same as in treo 600.

Treo 650 Price and Conclusion

The Treo 650 will most probably be available as a CDMA or GSM/GPRS/EDGE quad-band world phone. Price is still not revealed but it will depend upon the carrier and will definitely be higher than current price of treo 600. In USA, the carrier availability is expected this year and for rest it could be early 2005.
