Nokia 6810, the successor of Nokia 6800

Nokia 6800 - For the first time Nokia equipped a phone with QWERTY keypad, which was easier to use by two thumbs. The model wasn't popular because of large dimensions and high price. Following up on the launch of its phone Nokia 6800, Nokia has announced two successors to the oddly-shaped flip phone i.e. Nokia 6810 and Nokia 6820.
This model is aimed at mobile professionals who need easy access to their company and personal e-mail and personal information (PIM). For connectivity purposes, the 6820 offers not only Bluetooth, but also Infrared and high-speed WAN connectivity by EDGE support. Users will be able to carry out synchronization of PIM data both over the air, as well as with a local Windows desktop by Nokia PC Suite. The handset also offers an XHTML browser, as well as Wireless Village-based instant messaging with presence functionality and an e-mail client. 6800

New features added to Nokia 6810

When you open the phone, a picture is rotated at the angle of 90 degrees. After that, you can use a phone keyboard. It's interesting, that 6810 has a 4-directional joystick, but only two directions are always used (vertical and horizontal). It's a shortcoming, that it's impossible to press the joystick; you should use soft-keys instead. The keyboard is handy in contrast to functional keys, which are too deeply placed in the phone. It's not convenient to dial a phone number with a help of them. It's doubtful that this construction could change in the future because of the phone thickness. The phone has a lithium-ion battery of 950 mAh capacity (BLC-2) which can give an above average battery time.
Other features of the handset include support for J2ME applications, voice dialing, voice commands, the ability to record voice and an integrated handsfree speaker.

Nokia 6810 keyboard

The phone is relatively large, opened keyboard is large and convenient. In reality the phone dimensions (119 x 55 x 23 mm) are comparable to Nokia 3510, but this one is a little bit wider. The phone weighs not much (122g.), may be it's not very comfortable to wear it in the pocket but it's possible to do it. You can also wear it in the case of Nokia 6310.

Nokia 6810 comparison with Nokia 6820

Nokia has also released 6820 prior to the release of Nokia 6810. The only difference is the presence of digital camera and nokia 6820 contains FM radio. Apart from this, the only differences between the two handsets lie in their styling - and the fact that the 6810 is quite a bit larger than the 6820. 6800

Conclusion

This is rather expensive model, which is aimed to those who often uses e-mail, even while traveling. At the same time such consumers should prefer only one device, which will be cheaper than, for example, Nokia communicator. So I can assume that Nokia 6810 will find its consumers but, nevertheless, it will be used only for niche. We think that Nokia 6810 will have comparatively lower level of sale.
