N92

Nokia N92 Nokia N92 is rather a pre-release of another member of N series equipped with mobile TV standards. DVB-H is a mobile TV broadcast technology that lets you watch TV on your mobile in an efficient manner. The efficiency is not only involved in watching quality stream but also involving efficient battery consumption.

Design

Nokia N92 design is more sophisticatd than the N90. The smartphone can be opened or operated in atleast four modes. One is normal clamshell closed mode where you can see the small external screen with some basic alerts. Second is the normal clamshell open mode in which you operate your smartphone and do basic operational tasks. Third is the digital imaging mode in which you take pictures or make videos. This mode is much like the mode in Nokia N90. The fourth one is optimized for viewing mobile tv, browsing and message typing. In this mode, the phone is open like a notebook.

For better TV viewing, there is a QVGA based screen with 320 x 240 pixel resolution. Infact, Nokia N92 features form the superset of the smartphones announced in late 2005. This included Nokia N71, N80. So, you will find wifi support, UPnP Nokia supported network etc.

Camera

As far as camera is concerned, currently there is no Carl Zeis lens available, which means that the camera quality wont be at par with N90. But Nokia has planned to make some design changes before releasing the smartphone and support for Carl Zeis is expected.

Conclusion

With such a burst of features and extensibility, it seems that one cant think of anything if he has Nokia N92 in hands. You can connect to your wireless network to view, play, print and remote control. On the other hand, thet size is extremely large that the smartphone cant be even said pocketable. The actual weight is 191g and size is 107 x 58 x 25 mm. As i previously said, a slight design change is expected that might remove such questions. Nokia N92 is expected to be released in Q1 2006 with a price of 600 Euro.I would suspect that this smartphone wont be released and after some design changes a rather improved version be released in the market.
