Nokia N90 is one of the mostly admired cellphones released by the name of Nokia N Series by Nokia recently in April 2005. Nokia N90 is depicting some new and annovative features as well as some similar features from previous cellphones. Both are discussed below.
Features
The first external look and form factor will remind you the traditional memories of Nokia 6260 i.e clamshell form factor with rotatable screen. You will like Nokia N90 if you first look at its capabilities other than its size and weight. Nokia N90 is based over Nokia Series 60 platform; but the screen resolution is unusually big (352 x 416 pixels). The camera module is totally separate from the phone which brings a many positions to use the camera. Nokia has used a third party optics device in its cellphone i.e. Carl Zeiss for the first time. Carl Zeiss is considered to be a big name in that area. Optics are made up of glass instead of normal plastic which creates quality and the difference. The feature set of 2 MegaPixel camera is almost same as previous models. Furthermore, camera features include auto focus, red-eye reduction, landscape mode. The 262k screen with automatic contrast acording to environment gives a better quality display. The external screen is 65k with 128 x 128 pixel resolution. You can also use the external screen as a viewfinder in flip-closed mode. With 31Mb built-in memory and RS-MMC slot provides a very acceptable solution these days. All other best features of current market situation are built-into it such as Bluetooth 2.0, direct printer output, mp3/mpeg playback etc. You will also notice that it supports almost all networks from GSM/GPRS/EDGE to WCDMA/UMTS/3G. You will also see UMTS/3G specific features such as video call, streaming of media etc.
Now, if we come to dimensions and weight, Nokia N90 is 112x51x24 mm and 173 grams, one could easily say that its bulky and heavy. But, I think it can be compromised with its new features and being the first model of that type.
