N71
Nokia N71 Nokia has been working on bulky sets for a long time and I must say that Nokia has done really well on this path. These sets on one side increase the size and weight unusually on one side while on the other side, they give the manufacturer room to integrate features that can never be thought of. These features include 3rd party professional lens system, physical hard disk, huge screen, gps, wifi etc. Nokia N series is quite an example of this scenario and Nokia N71 is one of the new phones recently announced amont Nokia N80 and N92. Lets begin !!

Features

Nokia N71 bears a clamshell form factor thus covering the huge QVGA 320 x 240 resolution color screen. Nokia N71 contains the lower subset of features as compared with the companions released i.e N80 and N92. The major absense is wifi and a 10Mb built in memory. Being coined as a music oriented phone; on the other hand it will be a comparativly cheaper but effective solution.

The mini sd slot and its capacity upto giga bytes will solve your all current memory issues. An extensive support of GSM and UMTS will solve your major connectivity needs. Presence of bluetooth, infrared, usb, syncronization and Xpress music will solve all of your local connectivity issues. Nokia N71 is equipped with new browsing features and the support for RSS feeds.

Looking into camera features, you will see a dedicated 0.3 mp camera for video coferenceing and an external 2 megapixel camera for digital imaging.

Conclusion

Nokia N71 is expected to be released in Q1 2006 with a quoted price of 400 Euros. Being a multimedia smartphone, its not better to compare it with the hot music phones available in the market. In general, Nokia N series is providing a slightly different solution that cannot be compared with others. On one hands its providing a little bit more than the current market and the user needs. On the other hand its providing a solution that is somewhat bulky and might not be acceptable by masses in the beginning. But, with time this series has the pottential to be a hit in the future.
