Expected Release

Nokia has decided to give surprise to the Users by launching Nokia E-61 in the First Quarter of year 2006. On the other hand, the Customers are ready to the new technology monster welcome abroad.

Expected Price

There is always a conflict between price and Performance. This time Nokia has neither comprised performance over price nor price over performance. Nokia E-61 is expected to be launched within price range of USD 420 to USD 540.

Design

Nokia E-61 has as shiny, stylish design with metallic color coating, which receives the attention automatically even when placed in a variety of handsets.

Battery Life

Nokia E-61 is equipped with standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh (BP-5L) battery and its performance is extra-ordinary as compared to other handsets.
The battery is used to give a performance of up to 7 hours (420 minutes) of GSM talk as compared to Black-Berry's battery that only gives 4 hours of GSM talk time , not only this the handset is active and alive for about 264 hours in GSM Standby mode.

Screen Display

Nokia targeting the market by providing a handset with a large Landscape screen having TFT LCD display with high resolution of 352 x 240 pixels and supports 16.7 million (24-bit) colors, just have a look on the word million again, this is not a fairy tale, it does actually supports this amount of colors. Although Nokia E-61 supports the same pixel resolution as Black-Berry, its rival, does but the main difference comes when one think of supported colors. Black-Berry is only capable of 65 K colors which is just a portion of the colors supported by Nokia E-61.
Not only this, the handset also beats Sony Ericsson W900 by a mile in supported colors. Sony Ericsson W900 supports 256 K colors which could not compete with Nokia E-61 in any way.

Landscape Screen

With the handset providing Landscape screen, the users can enjoy operating and browsing the handset with even more ease than in normal handsets. You don't even need to scroll down or up while reading emails or messages. Imagine the amusement you get while watching movie or song on a Landscape mode supported handset.

Keyboard

Unlike other handsets, Nokia E-61 has a full QWERTY Keyboard with backlight.
Two shift Keys available are also quite useful for users.

Scrolling

Nokia E-61 comes with large high screen resolution screen. With such large screen one forgets the need of scroll down or up because everything is visible and available to him with ease. Due to such a big screen, one is always comfortable in using the different applications and reading documents.

Email Capabilities

Adobe Compatibility

As like other handsets, Nokia E-61 also has a built-in memory. Currently Nokia E-61 is supposed to equipped with up to 75MB built-in flash shared memory, but it does provide support for extra memory and can cope miniSD card to enhance the memory requirements.
It includes 64 MB miniSD card.

Multi Tasking

Can you guess that why Microsoft Outlook is so popular, one important reason among other so many reasons is that one can compose mail and then send email to the Recipients while working offline and soon after when it finds the connection E-mail is sent to the Recipient. Isn't this a great feature? Guess What? Nokia E-61 is also equipped with the same functionality and one can compose the Emails while offline and as soon as the handset finds a connection it will be able to send the email otherwise the email will be saved in your outbox. Multiple Languages:

Nokia E-61 supports multiple languages. The phone is capable to display its menu and text in languages other than US English. So this feature enables Nokia to target the customers other than Native Englishs.

Alerts

Nokia E-61 enables the users to create and save different Ring Profiles. Later on the User can quickly activate them and assign them. Different Ringing options can be applied to incoming calls, incoming SMS, service status, alarm etc.
Nokia E-61 supports polyphonic Ringtones of 48 chords, Monophonic, MP3 and True Tones as well. It does have a vibrator which can be very useful some times.

Don't you think that connecting to WLAN and WCDMA, using Infrared, Bluetooth and USB, are the purposes of Router; your answer would of course be Yes. Operating System

Nokia E-61 is a Series 60 3rd Edition device runs over Symbian Operating System v9.1. So it does support the compatibility of most of the softwares.

PC Sync available in Nokia E-61 allows the users to connect their handsets to PC and synchronize the phone with relevant computer application.

OMA DM:

Digital TTY/TDD:

Nokia E-61 has support for Digital TTY/TDD. This feature enables those who are deaf and hard of hearing to use a special TTY text device with digital service.
Without this feature, TTY devices are compatible only with analog service.

Call soft-key button on Left side and Hang-up button on Right side are well designed and easy to use.
One hand navigation is possible only through Nokia E-61.

Miscellaneous

One can save multiple numbers per name .
User can assign distinct Rings to different Users, so he can know who is calling even without looking at the number.
Speaker-Independent voice dialing is available in this handset. Although Speaker-dependent/ Recorded voice dialing is common to the handsets, but this is also a unique and new feature in this handset.
