According to Nokia, the Nokia 8910i can be called premium image class phone. The case is made up of titanium which absorbs shocks and protects the hardware. To open the phone, press two side keys simultaneously and main part of the phone will slide open. A keypad remains chromium plated. Unfortunately, keys have only a side backlighting. It means that characters cannot be seen on the keys in the dark. It's very inconvenient while creating SMS messages.

Nokia 8910i is very similar to earlier model 8910. The basic difference is the availability of one color instead of two, the presence of color screen and java. A relatively shorter battery time can also be observed if you compare both of them. But most of the users of 8910 don't want to upgrade to 8910i. The basic reason behind this is that the new features are introduced but they are not up to the mark. Such as the color screen is present but is very muddy and dim in quality. Java is present but the memory pool is only around 140 k which hardly allows you to feel the adventure of java.

Shortcomings and disadvantages in the phone

The phone has got most of the advanced features such as GPRS, Java, MMS, Bluetooth etc. But still it is not recommended by most of the people. This is due to the shortcomings described above plus short battery time, connectivity problems in Bluetooth, high cost and the above average weight of the phone. If you have to select one between Nokia 8910 and Nokia 8910i then I will recommend Nokia 8910.
