Nokia 7710 became announced in November 2004. It is important to know about the history of this class. A year back, Nokia introduced Nokia 7700 with new media features and developer platform. The key point was the presence of a touchscreen which Nokia always lacked. The product failed before release because of some technical problems in the touchscreen and a non-touchscreen version was released which was just more than a dummy. Nokia 7700 is expected to be released in Q1 of year 2005. Price is expected to be 500 - 600 Euro. In some unofficial pictures, Nokia 7710 is compared with Sonyericsson P900. We can say that Nokia 7710 has been designed to compete with Sonyericsson P900; as both have touchscreen. Nokia 7710 is a bit bigger and heavier than Sonyericsson p900. In my opinion, although Nokia is said to be the giant; still Nokia 7710 will be having a hard time in the market to survive. Even it comes up with all promising features and network support, its hard to divert wealthy smartphone users from Sonyericsson P series to Nokia series 90's 7710.
