Nokia 7700 new concepts

Let's discuss some of the new concepts that are introduced with Nokia 7700.
Digital TV: It is the most interesting feature of the handset. The Nokia 7700, when attached to an accessory (Nokia Streamer), will be able to accept a special type of digital TV signal designed specifically for handheld devices. In explanatory words, according to Nokia: the Nokia Streamer accessory, the first mobile IP Datacast receiver designed specifically for pilot purposes, is attached to the Nokia 7700 much like a battery pack. The Nokia Streamer receives the broadcast signal and the content is viewed on the Nokia 7700 media device.
Visual Radio: It is an enhanced FM radio that combines listening to radio with visual services delivered through the mobile network, which include images and text on the screen of the mobile handset.
Movie Channel: It is the streaming of movie trailers directly to the 7700 on a weekly basis.

Conclusion

As a conclusion, I must say that this handset is totally a new concept from Nokia, awaiting user's acceptance or rejection. The positive features are certainly the touch screen, digital TV and enhanced FM radio. Some people think that Nokia 7700 goes far away from the definition of mobile phones. Basically, it is a media phone or can be said as a gadget or PDA. Major consumer target is on youth, because they are the ones who try new things and buy more handsets than other people. The main disadvantage may be its size and weight (183 grams). But, this can't be compromised for a phone of such class and functionality. This phone is expected in the second quarter of 2004 and its price will take part in deciding its fortune. Certainly, more handsets of similar platform will also be coming soon.
