Nokia 7610, a continuation of Nokia 60 series

At CeBIT Nokia has updated its series of smartphones i.e. series 60 with its first mega pixel phone, the Nokia 7610. Nokia 7610 brings a new level of style to decorate Nokia's smartphone offering. This model is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2004 in two variants, GSM 900/1800/1900 and GSM 850/1800/1900. It is expected to be a retail price of approximately $500.

The Nokia 7610 has a similar rounded-edge look like the Nokia 7600, but has a conventional keypad. The keypad is quite comfortable, unlike some other recent keypad design mishaps found in recent Series 60 smarthones such as Nokia 3650 and others. The 7610 will be available in 2 colors - black and white. Additional Style-Up kits will also be available for users wishing to customize their phone further.

The camera of Nokia 7610 features high resolution lens (1152 X 864), 4x digital zoom, and a self-timer. The Nokia 7610 imaging device also allows users to efficiently capture images in low-light conditions. The phone provides print functionality. With a Bluetooth connection to a compatible printer, you can take prints of the picture within a few seconds. The Kodak Pictures application on the phone can upload the pictures to a virtual photo album on the web and shared online with others or to order prints via an online service.

With 72MB of expandable memory (8MB built in and 64 MB Reduced Size MultiMedia Card in sales package), Nokia 7610 is also capable of both recording and playing back video and sound files simultaneously. It can also act as an mp3 player. The phone also allows watching real-time video streaming using the built-in RealOne mobile player. The phone can capture video in 128 x 96 or 174 x 144 resolutions (Sub QCIF or QCIF), and it supports MPEG-4, 3GPP, Real Video and H.263 video formats.
The standard kit also contains a USB cable to connect with a PC and a software CD which are essential for a smartphone like that.
