About Neonode

Neonode is a Swedish based mobile phone developer. Neonode has created a new interface for users i.e. Neno. Neno is based over Windows CE (Compact Edition). Neonode has also introduced a light beam controlled touchscreen called zForce. Their first product is Neonode N1 that makes use of these technologies. Neonode is located to Stockholm, Sweeden.

Introduction and Features

Neonode N1m is a smartphone with exceptionally small size and weight ie 94 grams. It could be said a bit wider and thicker but not that much. There is no keypad and the screen works as a touchscreen. You should also note that the touchscreen is using some different technology stated above. There is no stylus and it should be operated by hand, possibly thumb.
Neonode N1m also comes up with an SD memory slot expandable upto 1Gb, plus there is internal memory. wifi is also supported but bluetooth is not there. USB cable is provided to connect to pc. Neonode N1 was missing a virbra call which is now available in N1m. Neonode N1m is also supporting music features with a standard stereo headphone jack. Stereo headphones are also provided in the package.

Conclusion

Currently its only available online to European countries. Initially, the price is around 400 Euro with 64Mb card. The price is high at the time of release and is expected to lower down. The major disadvantage is that the Neonode N1m doesnt support much of the window CE applications because of the neonode platform. It could be admired by gadget lovers but not by masses because of lack of standardization. HTC magician platform could be preferred over it which provides more functionality and standardization eg i-mate JAM, XDA II mini etc. In other words, the look and feel is great, if the platform got improved it could get a huge hit in the market.
