V600
Motorola Phone V600
Motorola Phone V600It is the first 4-band Motorola phone. The company took a long time to release that phone. It took almost a year between the phone was introduced and released. This may also decrease the life span of the phone.

Physical Appearance

Physically, Motorola phone v600 is relatively compact (88mm x 47mm x 23mm), especially when compared to a Sony Ericsson Z600, but it is not exactly a lightweight handset. The weight is around 127g, which is about 15g heavier than the Sony Ericsson. The presence of external antenna may be considered as a negative point for some users, but as a 4-band phone, it can be compromised. The rest of the exterior of Motorola phone V600 is quite nice. The front and rear covers are made up of metal which can also be replaced and different covers are also available as an accessory for customization. There is also an external monochrome LCD present, capable of showing 96x32 resolution. The internal LCD is a 176x220 pixel color TFT. The color depth is 65k which is best of the cell phones of current age. The colors are bright enough to provide nice visibility in direct sunlight or in winter.

Camera Features

The built in camera is of VGA resolution (640x480), and is located next to a self-portrait mirror. It don't has the support for flash or search light, but nowadays this feature is not considered necessary for a camera phone, in future it may be. The color balance and saturation of the photos taken by Motorola v600 is quite good. Preset resolutions and lighting modes are also present which help in taking a nice picture. Furthermore, the V600 has a 4x digital zoom, and also has the ability to scale down images to the screen size and re-save them so that they take up less room. The phone can play video files but the camera is unable to make videos. This could be considered as a negative point. The 5Mb built in memory is large enough to keep a bulk of pictures.

Connectivity Options

As far as the connectivity options are concerned, the phone supports Blue tooth. IrDa is not there. And on the network GPRS of class 10 and a WAP browser 2.0 are present. The phone is highly compatible with accessories like Blue tooth headset. You can even use Sony Ericsson Blue tooth headset with Motorola V600. An email client is also there. PC synchronization is also not a problem for the phone.

Fun Features

In context of fun features, camera is already discussed. Furthermore, Java MIDP 2.0 support is there. The 32 polyphonic tones are good and mp3/wav files can also be used as a ring tone.

Conclusion

In the end, I must say that Motorola has managed to release very nice models. This motorola phone was technically ahead of the current models. In my opinion, only a relative heaviness can be considered as a disadvantage. But, motorola phone v600 got a lot of delay to get released. A new generation of mobile phones came out by that time, and this model would probably become a flop or a phone with very short life span.
