When back in 2004 Motorola launched its brand new model RAZR, the handset produced extra ordinary business for the company but now Motorola is exploiting the great success of RAZR handset. This might be the reason that company reconsidered the titles of some announced handsets. Most of you people would have remembered that some time ago Motorola had launched a new handset called Motorola V1150 but suddenly that name disappeared and the model was announced to be Motorola RAZR V3x and the company achieved the target what was set and the renaming of the model suddenly increased the sales of the handset.

General

Motorola has launched Motorola Razr V3x, a new addition to the clamshell handsets and sophisticated devices. The handset was announced to be launched in 4th Quarter of 2005 and at the moment it is easily available in the market. Motorola Razr V3x, a dual color display handset, is a tri-band handset that supports GSM900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 along with UMTS (3G) support.

At the moment Motorola has launched the handset in Black colors taking care of the needs of most of people.

Package

The package for the Motorola Razr V3x includes a handset, AC adapter, USB to Mini-USB cord, battery and software CD containing mobile phone tools. The General user manual is also there to help in using the handset.

Design & Display

Motorola Razr V3x is only 0.77 inches thin, 2.08 inches wide (not more than the width of a credit card) and 3.89 inches long, and is one of the thinnest phones on the market but with rich functions. Motorola Razr V3x being a lightest and slimmest handset weighs only 125 grams (4.40 oz). Motorola Razr V3x is a dual screen handset. The internal or main display is TFT/TFD LCD screen of 240 x 320 pixel resolution supporting 256,000 colors. The External display is CSTN CLI display supporting 96 x 80 pixels resolutions with 4k colors. Both of the displays are bright and easy readable.

Keys Design

Motorola Razr V3x contains chemically engraved keypad that is created from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy and is distinct at its own providing easy to use keys.

Battery Life

Motorola Razr V3x is equipped with 850 mAh standard Li-Ion battery. The battery is certified to give a performance of up to 5 hours (300 minutes) of GSM talk as compared to Black-Berry's battery that only gives 4 hours of GSM talk time, but still this is quite less than the performance given be the batteries of Nokia E-Series handsets or Sony Ericsson's W-Series. Coming to Stand-by time, the handset is active and alive for about 250 hours (more than 10 days) which is some what the same performance as Sony Ericsson's W550 and Nokia E-Series' batteries used to give in GSM Standby mode. So in my point of view the battery is not as good as it should be. Motorola needs to work little bit on battery performance.

Memory

The handset has 64 Mb internal memory but the handset is also supported with additional 512 MB removable memory via the removable TransFlash memory card.

Camera

Motorola Razr V3x is also mounted with 2.0 mega pixel camera with 8 x digital zoom especially for close ups along with Flash, Macro mode settings and an LED. Pictures can be taken in resolution up to 1600 x 1200 pixels.
You can also record videos using Motorola Razr V3x, limited to the available memory but if you have added the additional memory then you can record the video up to 600 MB. Is not this great comparing to Sony Ericsson W550 which is able to record only video up to only 256 MB. The image editor helps to edit the images in large color display and then can share with MMS. The handset also supports real-time 2-way video calling

Motorola Razr V3x has two cameras and it is a famous saying that "two are better than one". So it fits perfect in this case as well. You can capture the world with 2 mega pixel camera and there is another VGA camera that is there to support 2-way video calling.

Multimedia

Motorola Razr V3x has a MP3/AAC media player to make a good use of time for music lovers. And it provides support for AAC+, MPEG4, WMV, WMA, MP3 and Real Video or Audio files.
You can assign 24 chord polyphonic tone as ring tone or any Mp3 stored in memory as ring tone. Multimedia streaming is also possible in Motorola Razr V3x.
Motorola Razr V3x also provides progressive downloading at demand and you can see the videos and play games using Motorola's 3D graphics engine.

SCREEN3 Feature

Motorola Razr V3x's introduced new feature SCREEN3, which allows zero-click access to users for news, entertainment, sports and other similar stuff from your mobile device. You never need to click any buttons or open browsers to access.

E-Mail and Messaging

Motorola Razr V3x is an excellent handset to use for browsing and checking for Emails. The handset supports all of the popular protocols of the day e.g. – POP3, IMAP4, SMTP.
Motorola Razr V3x supports both GPRS class 10 (HSDPA) and WAP 2.0, while WTLS is there for more security of the WAP, providing privacy, data integrity and authentication for WAP services.

Not to worry, Motorola Razr V3x also supports one to one SMS, EMS 5.0, MMS (Picture / photo + text + sound) and instant messaging. Besides this the handset also supports group SMS.

Miscellaneous

Over the Air synchronization is also available in Motorola Razr V3x and you can synchronize your handset with PC.
Long Range Bluetooth is also available in the handset that supports wireless stereo sound for handsfree communication.
Motorola Razr V3x also provides the support of advanced speaker independent voice recognition, which allows you to connect to the concerned person without recording the name earlier on.
