Motorola e365 is a low price, high quality camera phone. This phone is very popular among people who don't prefer costly phones, but like fun features such as camera, polyphonic tones, java games etc.
The phone usually comes in silver color with dark grey frame around the screen. The dimensions and weight are quite reasonable i.e. 107 x 45 x 19.5 mm 93 grams. One of the most interesting features is the screen. The screen supports 65k color TFT in a 128x160 pixel screen resolution. Almost half of the phone is covered by the screen. The resolution is same as Sonyericsson t610, but the colors are very sharp. The phone doesn't have any competitors in its segment due to the screen. Camera is present at the rear side, featuring a unique cover to protect the lens. The cover is made up of mirror, so that you can take your own picture too. There is also a dedicated button for camera such that you can handle the phone to take portrait pictures and to handle it just like a camera.
The built in VGA camera features 640x480 resolution, which is quite enough for taking pictures of nearby objects and persons. Taken pictures have a quality to be printed on a normal sized paper. There are 3 preset resolutions for the camera and a night mode is also there. When the night mode is on, nice quality pictures can be taken in indoors and low light conditions. But while the camera is in night mode, the refresh rate of viewfinder decreases which may be considered as a disadvantage. The phone has 2MB of memory. You can store up to 60 – 70 pictures in high resolution in the phone with this memory.
The phone bears an iconic menu and navigation is simple. But, if you are switching from Samsung or Sonyericsson, the yes and no buttons are swapped. Hence, it takes some time to get used to it. The phone supports java; five preinstalled java games are also present. New levels of the games can be downloaded from internet via GPRS. All the basic PIM features including picture CLI are present. Furthermore, WAP 2.0 browser is present which can also open a lot of non-wap sites. The 16 channel polyphonic tones are loud enough and midi file format for polyphonic tones is also supported. Other main features include MMS, photo album, animated screen savers etc.
The phone lacks its features when a talk of connectivity options comes under discussion. IrDA and Bluetooth are absent in the phone. Furthermore, data cables from previous phones of Motorola don't fit into this phone and usually the data cable don't ships with the phone. So, you have to buy one for yourself in order to save or print the pictures taken by it. On the other hand, the absence of these features reduces the price of the set which is very useful in capturing more users of the phone.
There are no major bugs found in the phone. Price, camera and screen are major positive points of this phone. So, as a conclusion I must say that, this is the best phone that you get for this price and it will give you the value of your money.
