Motorola E1070 should have provided the advance Emailing capabilities to make the people buy it. There are a lot of business persons that adopt handsets for dual purposes, they want their handsets to be full functional calling machine but also being in contact with business via Emails, so this would not be possible with this handset. This is also a major functionality hole in Motorola E1070.
Support for Multiple Languages
Today, the handsets made are sold all over the world. There are still such countries where English is not the major language and people don't understand. So to target the customers in those countries the handsets should also provide Multiple Language support which Motorola E1070 also lacks. So Motorola should also have worked on that as well.
Infrared
Although infrared is quite old technology but a lot of people occasionally use it. Motorola E1070 supporting Blue tooth does not support Infrared which is quite strange. I personally think that Motorola should have incorporated Infrared technology in Motorola E1070.
WI-FI
Motorola E1070 like other new handsets should have supported the Wi-Fi connectivity because this is the technology of the new era. This would make the competition tougher against other brands like Nokia's E-series handsets and N-Series handsets that have incorporated Wi-Fi functionality.
Conference Calling
Conference calling is a new feature that most of the popular companies try to put in their handsets. You know this is an interesting feature in a mobile handset. Motorola should also have added this functionality in Motorola E1070 along with other interesting features.
Improved Display
Motorola E1070 should have provided better color screen than that is present. This could also a competitive advantage over other handsets e.g. Nokia E-61 is going to provide a screen having TFT LCD display with high resolution of 352 x 240 pixels and supports 16.7 million (24-bit) colors.
Improved Camera
Most of the handsets today provide better quality camera so in order to be in the list of most demanding handsets Motorola E1070 should have got a good quality camera that could produce a better quality videos and pictures at the same time. The current camera is 1.3 Mega pixel but it would be lot more better that a 2 Mega pixel camera would have been provide. Also the camera is not Auto focus so the camera should be auto focus for better picture and video results.
PHOTO-ID
Motorola E1070 should also have provided photo-ID facility as other new handsets do provide in order to be one of the most selling handsets.
RADIO
Motorola E1070 should have provided the advance multimedia support. This would have been the key selling feature for Motorola E 1070.
AM Radio:
With AM Radio Motorola E1070, people would have interested to listen to live talk shows and 24 hours fresh news and other similar stuff.
FM Radio:
If someone having Motorola E1070 wants to listen to powerful music available through FM transmitters, then that would not have been possible because Motorola E1070 lacks this facility.
Conclusion
Motorola E1070, a handset at this time launched by Motorola, could not compete the rest of handsets because it lacks much of the functionalities which other handsets do. Motorola would have got better results if they would have incorporated a good quality camera instead of the current normal camera, good screen resolution, WLAN connectivity, VOIP capability, advanced E-mail support, Radio channels lookup and most importantly should have been a Quad-band handset.
