RIM BlackBerry 7100t RIM (Research In Motion) has been very famous regarding its blackberry platform. Their devices have key strength in email and IM based services; and now RIM has decided to make a more cellphone-like device with all emailing, IM, browsing capabilities built into it. Blackberry 7100t is the device in this context.

Messaging Capabilities

As discussed before, Blackberry is popular for its email capabilities. 7100t supports push based email. In push technology, a message is sent to inbox and it is directly pushed to receiver's cell phone without any other downloading or prompting needed. Furthmore, 7100t's email protocol is compatible with POP3/ISP, IMAP, AOL Mail, Yahoo Mail, MSN Hotmail, Microsoft Exchange (using Outlook Web Access or the BlackBerry Mail Connector application), and Lotus Domino (using iNotes or the BlackBerry Mail Connector application). While considerint its IM capabilities, it supports AOL (subscription required), MSN, and ICQ. Furthremore, Blackberry's predictive text input and templates are excellent and they have the ability to expand your device's functionality by downloading Java applications.

Features

Blackberry 7100t features a rich 240 x 260 pixel 65k TFT color screen incorporated in 119 x 59 x 21 mm 120g body. It supports quad-band GSM/GPRS networks. There is also a possibility of EDGE support in it. The blackberry 7100t also bears extensive cell phone features eg. Speakerphone, dedicated receive/end buttons etc; connectivity features eg. Bluetooth, snychronization etc.

Conclusion

This is an excellent product for email conscious people, but the relatively small QWERTY keyboard could be considered as a huge disadvantage. Another issue could be that, there are not a lot of 3rd party applications developed specifically for blackberry. So, one should also keep this thing in mind.
